Lake Tahoe Activities

While in Lake Tahoe you'll find plenty of things to do during any season. There is a long list of recreational activities as well as a variety of Lake Tahoe events that take place during the year. While in South Lake Tahoe explore the area for some recreation or relaxation.

Winter

Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding: Heavenly Ski Resort has over 4,800 acres to make your dreams of pristine powder come true. Sierra-at-Tahoe and Kirkwood ski resorts are also close by. 

Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing:  Spooner Lake Cross Country Ski Area is only 12 miles from South Lake Tahoe. Over 80 kilometers of groomed cross country and snowshoe trails are spread over 9000 scenic acres.

Summer

Watersports: When the warm sun is shining, hit the lake for some water skiing, kayaking, windsurfing, jet skiing, or even parasailing.  

Biking and Hiking: Many bike paths, dirt roads, single tracks, and bike parks can be found in the area.  Enjoy hiking through various wildflowers such as purple columbines, pink monkeyflowers, and red alpine paintbrush.

Tahoe Paradise Golf Course: Full service golf course with a pro shop, practice facilities, and snack bar. Tee off for a 9 or 18 hole game nestled deep within the majestic pines of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.   

Any Season
